“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:12-14
As sons of our Heavenly Father, God has called our husbands to a purpose for His Glory. With God’s strength my husband and your husband can live their lives fully focused on the path God has called them to. But in today’s world staying fully focused on that path can be very difficult.
Each day they face obstacles seen and unseen, from temptations around them to stress to live up to the task of being a husband and father. But we as their wives can be a source of help to them through our prayer. With those prayers we can intercede asking God to give them the strength to forget the difficulties they have had in the past. We can ask God to give them the strength to press on and persevere to live the life He has called them to.
Will you join me today in praying for your husband to live the purpose God has called him to?
Lord you have called my husband to a life to be led for you. May he forget the difficulties of the past and keep his eyes focused on you. Lord give him the strength to persevere and compete the tasks that you have set before him. In Your Name I Pray, Amen.
In His Calm,
