Day 14 – Praying for the Lost
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV
John 3:16 is one of the most well known verses of the Bible. It speaks directly to why Jesus came to Earth, to save us from our sins. Oh my friend there are so many lost people around us each and everyday. Some are lost in their sin and they don’t even realize it. The enemy masks sin as beautiful and fun. People are drawn into sin little by little and before they know it they are so entrenched in a life of sin they don’t recognize truth when they see it.
Do you have a family member, friend, or coworker who is lost in sin? Do you need to speak God’s truth in love and grace? How can you share that God loves them so very much that He sent His Son to die on the Cross for their sins? Ask God to bring one person to mind with whom you can share His love.
Thanksgiving
Thank God for the quiet moments to spend in His Presence.
Focus
Ask God to remove distractions so you may focus your heart and mind on Him.
God’s Revelation through His Word
Are there words or phrases that stand out to you? In your journal, write the name of the person God brought to your mind. How can you share God’s love with that person today? Will you write them a note, text, share with them face to face?
Prayer
In your journal write out a prayer for the person God brought to mind. Take your concern for them and lay it At the Cross of Christ. Spend time in focused prayer asking God to give you the opportunity to share His love with the lost.
