Day 4 – Struggles
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 NIV
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8,9
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Let’s face it; there are days when life can be down right hard. Are you in a season where troubles, obstacles and fears are hitting you from every direction? Spend some time today talking about the hard things of life with God. Be honest with the hurt and pain. Hand it over to Him. Then ask Him to strengthen you and encourage you as you begin to focus on Him, rather than on the troubles of the day.
Thanksgiving
Thank God for the quiet moments to spend in His Presence.
Focus
Ask God to remove distractions so you may focus your heart and mind on Him. In your journal, list the hard things of life. It’s ok, God knows them, and sometimes we need to honestly place them before Him so He can work in those hard things.
God’s Revelation through His Word
Are there words or phrases that stand out to you? Underline or write out the words or phrases that give you strength and encouragement. Are there spiritual lessons, truths or principles that you can learn? Is God asking you to act?
Prayer
Pray God’s Words back to Him, making it personally applicable to you. Is God asking you to do something? Talk with Him about it. Do you have a specific concern? Lay it at the foot of The Cross.
In His Calm,
