Day 5 – Perseverance
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12 NIV
Are you struggling through a hard season? Are you wondering when life will get easier, when this trial will end? My friend, can I speak to your wounded heart today? Don’t give up!! When you are in the middle of a trial it’s so easy to become frustrated and want to give up. But keep going, keep leaning on God because when you do, you will receive more blessings than you can imagine. I know all you see right now is the hurt, the pain, and the dark days but this won’t last forever. You are only human and can only see what’s right in front of you, but God is a big God who sees you hurting now and sees the future He has for you. Trust Him with that future. Allow God to comfort you where you are in this moment and allow Him to give you the strength you need to make it through this hard season. God promises to see you through to the other side.
Thanksgiving
Thank God for the quiet moments to spend in His Presence.
Focus
Ask God to remove distractions so you may focus your heart and mind on Him.
God’s Revelation through His Word
Are there words or phrases that stand out to you? Are there spiritual lessons, truths or principles that you can learn? In the past, when you have undergone trials, in what ways have you persevered? In what ways do you need God to help you persevere through this trial?
Prayer
Pray God’s Words back to Him, making it personally applicable to you. Is God asking you to do something? Talk with Him about it. Do you have a specific concern? Lay it at the foot of The Cross.
