Day 7 – Peace
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10 NIV
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
How are you? I mean, really, how are you? Too often when we are asked that question our go to response is “I’m fine” or “I’m good”. But there are times underneath the surface we know we are not “fine” and we are not “good”. Sometimes it’s all we can do to respond to someone’s greeting because life is in turmoil. We are tired and worn out from the hard days of life. All we want is a little bit of rest and to feel God’s perfect peace.
My friend, can I remind you of something? God loves you so very much that His “unfailing love for you will not be shaken”! No matter what burdens you carry or what mountains crumble around you, He will keep you in perfect peace. Do you believe the words in these passages? Let Him teach you how to find rest and his perfect peace for your weary soul.
