My husband’s alarm went off this morning at 5:30. Normally I roll over and drift back off to sleep until my alarm goes off 15 minutes later.
But today that didn’t happen. My mind immediately started flipping through the rolodex of to-do lists in my brain –
· laundry is piling up throughout the house
· blog posts need to be written
· my bathroom MUST be cleaned today
· meals haven’t been planned for the week
· the kids are low on lunch food, which means a trip to the grocery store…
It wasn’t long before I could feel tightness and anxiety take over my body as I began stressing over getting it all done.
So I prayed, “Lord I am so tired, why am I stressing about this? I know it doesn’t help. Please help me order my day according to your will.”
As I prayed those words Isaiah 40:29-31 came to my mind
“He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
I LOVE when the Holy Spirit reminds me of God’s Word! His Truth brings peace to my soul.
My mind slowed and moved aside the to-do list as I focused on turning my hope to the Lord and following Him through the day. I climbed out of bed made my coffee and sat down to read His Word and message for me today.
Starting the morning off with God and focusing on His strength will help me follow His to-do list.
How about you? Are you stressing over all that you need to do today? Will you turn it over to God?
Dear Lord, I pray that you will help each of us focus on your to-do list. Give us your strength & your power to soar with you. May we run and not grow weary and may we walk and not be faint. In Your Name I Pray, Amen.
In His Calm,

[…] can I whisper something into your heart my friend? It’s ok if you don’t get your to-do list done today. It will be there […]
