It’s Five Minute Friday with Lisa-Jo a time where writers take 5 minutes to write on a prompt. This is a time of free writing, straight from the heart with no editing. Today not only am I linking up with Lisa-Jo but I am also linking up with Denise Hughes as part of a Writing Your Writing Story assignment. While this isn’t my full writing story, it is a glimpse into the journey God is leading me on.

I never have and I don’t ever think I will be able to call myself a writer.
It’s not something I was born to do.
But there was a day, a week, a month, a year when life was so insanely hard that I felt one more piece of bad news, one more responsibility, one more breath and I would break in two.
And that is when I began writing.
God knew I needed a way to express the pain, the sorrow, and the emotions and in that I picked up my pen and journal…and I wrote.
The words were a lifeline between God and me. They expressed the feelings I couldn’t utter out-loud.
And in baring my soul to Him I began to heal.
Today the pain is gone. Healing took place and life moved on.
But today I still write…not out of pain & difficult circumstances but because God showed His amazing love and compassion and I want to share that amazing love and compassion with others.
I want others to know that when life becomes unbearable there is a God who loves us unconditionally.
There is a God who, when everyone else leaves us, His Love never fails and He will always be with us.

I hear you, there is something so powerful in writing when we are hurting. And the power is addicting once we feel it… Wonderful five minutes!

Mary, Jeff Goins says “If you write then you are a writer” You write. I know because I just read your words and were touched by them.
So accept it.
Proclaim it.
Live in it.
YOU ARE A WRITER !!!!
