It’s Friday Oct 31st and I’m returning from an unintended blogging break. When I lasted posted in September I was working on plans for a 31 Days blogging series but life & God had other plans.
So many times I sat down to write but between a puppy seeking attention, housework looming over me, women’s ministry at my church and kids to transport the posts didn’t get written.
After a couple of weeks of stressing because I couldn’t get everything done I realized I needed to take a deep breath and trust God to give me my schedule for the day. Unfortunately that didn’t always include what I wanted to do on a given day.
But fortunately God’s ways are bigger & higher than mine, and each time I stopped and listened to his leading He showed up.
I can’t say that I always calmly and patiently listened for his leading because… full disclosure here… there were days when I was so anxious to get it all done I actually had chest pain!
Now who on earth gets so uptight about not being able to follow a to-do list that they have chest pain? Me, that’s who… and somehow I don’t think I’m the only one. I talk to friends all the time who struggle with meeting expectations of family, friends, kids, employers and their never ending to-do list.
But sweet friend can I tell you something? God tells us to take our burdens, our concerns and our to-do lists to Him & He will give us rest for our souls. He will give us the rest we need and He will give us the direction we need to walk in.
Once again God has reminded me it’s ok not to get everything done. I am not super-woman. I may be a wife, a mom, and a friend but most importantly I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and He has a plan for my life and when I stop each day and ask for His path He will give me rest.
So can I whisper something into your heart my friend? It’s ok if you don’t get your to-do list done today. It will be there tomorrow.
Let God guide your steps each day. He wants to work through you and in you and when you give Him your day He shows up.

such a great post. I needed the kind reminder that it is okay not to be superwoman.
