My friend I am so glad you have joined me for At The Cross. Thank you for joining me as we find time to meet one on one with God at the foot of The Cross. This will be a time where you sit quietly and listen to what He has to say through the daily passages, prayer and journaling.
Each day is laid out as follows:
- Day – topic
- Daily passage
- Time of Thanksgiving
- Time of Focus
- God’s Revelation through His Word
- Prayer
You need your Bible or Bible app, journal, pen and a quiet place. As you start each quiet time, spend a few minutes thanking God for the quiet moments to spend in His Presence, then ask Him to speak to you through His Word.
The world we live in today is constantly moving and rarely quiet. As you quiet yourself to study and listen to God, don’t be discouraged if your mind wanders or you become distracted. Keep a pad next to you to jot notes down for later. Ask God to calm your heart and remove any distractions so that you may listen to Him.
Once you have focused your heart and mind on the Presence of God, read the daily passage and spend 5-10 minutes quietly sitting, pray over the passage and ask God to reveal His Truth in His Word. Take time to journal what God reveals to your heart.
When you finish journaling through the day’s verse, spend time in prayer over the passage and in what God is leading you to do. If you have a specific request, need or concern, take it to God and share it with Him. This is where you lay your burdens at the foot of the Cross of Christ.
My prayer is that through At The Cross you will:
- Grow deeper in your personal walk with God
- Take your burdens to God and lay them at The Cross of Christ, rather than carrying them yourself
- Experience the mighty Power of God through the Presence of the Holy Spirit
- See God work in your life in a new way
So, my friend, let’s come into His Presence.
In His Calm,
