Hi there my friend,
Are you struggling today with the calling God placed on your life? Are you a mom who had the epic of mommy fits while trying to get your kids out the door this morning and now your beating yourself up over the words you used? Are you a teacher who finds herself at the end of the school year tired and frustrated. You love the kids you teach but the headaches that go along with all the paperwork and administrative stuff has you questioning if it’s all worth it. Are you a business owner who loves providing a service but the hassle of dealing with clients who are never fully satisfied is beginning to take its toll. Are you a writer who loves to create and encourage others through the words on a page, but you find yourself comparing yourself to those who have a bigger platform and are further along than you are and you wonder if you’re good enough to make a difference.
My friend, I know where you are. I have been discouraged, tired, frustrated & questioned if it’s all worth it. On those days – after my own little pity part of course – I have taken the discouragement, frustration, questions and exhaustion to God and placed it at His feet. As I’ve surrendered the concerns to Him He has given me the encouragement I needed.
Ephesians 2:10 says,
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
God has a purpose for you. He called YOU to an area of ministry only you can do. You are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to be…
- the mother to your children – to love them, feed them, wipe their tears and kiss their booboos and to raise them to be Godly men and women
- the teacher to the child who doesn’t have a mom at home to love them and tell them how special they truly are
- the business owner who stands on Godly principles and models to her employees and clients how to graciously respond to conflict resolution
- the writer who’s words encourage the specific reader who needed to hear God’s Words through you at the specific time she read them.
God prepared YOU for the calling He placed on your life. Trust Him when you feel discouraged, inadequate, unqualified, unworthy and incapable to make you courageous, sufficient, able, qualified, and capable to carry out the calling He has placed on your life. For God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”, Ephesians 3:20.
Today I want to leave you with this prayer as you lay your discouragement at the feet of Christ.
